Hot Tub Wiring

Professional Hot Tub Wiring Installation

Hot tubs come in all shapes, sizes and styles and that means different power requirements. Hot tubs can be small enough to run on standard outlets but often they need a dedicated circuit.

Sparky’s installs dedicated circuits based on what your hot tub setup requires. All installations are GFCI protected and will apply National Electric Code (NEC) Requirements.

I want a hot tub, where do I start?

Things to know before having your hot tub wired include:

  • Location : Where will the hot tub go? Stay at least 5′ away from metal and/or your breaker panel
  • Power : What is the rating of my hot tub? 50 amp and 240 volt has been standard, but you may need more
  • Space : Do I have enough space in my breaker panel for a hot tub? Do I need a sub-panel?
  • Raceway : Do I need new conduit on my house? Underground? Installed before new concrete?
  • Project : Does this project require a permit before installation?
  • Existing : Power is there and I need a reconnect, disconnect or removal?

Sparky’s wires hot tubs in all different styles including exterior conduit, unfinished basements and underground conduit. If you are having a new hot tub installed on new concrete, Sparky’s will trench and install underground conduit straight to your tub.
