FAQ’s

A few quick facts:

Sparky’s receives over 50% of their work from referrals and repeat business! (You know, happy customers!)

Sparky’s is here to help, not just here to get in your door. Check our Downloads and Resources.

Q :: Is Sparky’s licensed and insured to work in my area?

Absolutely! We are licensed and insured in the State of Colorado. We also hold city and country licenses in almost every jurisdiction around the Denver Metro area. As always, if you’re not sure, just ask!

Q :: What type of payments are accepted?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Cash and Check

Q :: How do you handle payments and billing and personal information with the Service Shop?

Since our online service shop is so easy to use, we accept Paypal and Credit Cards as part of your checkout process. We hold that information until your project is complete and make any transaction adjustments if more work is approved.

Q :: What about purchasing repairs? How does that work? What are the benefits?

Repairs are complex therefore no fixed price can be applied for any given repair. Some companies claim to have up-front repair pricing but if they do not fix the issue in a few hours, they simply walk away (we know, we’ve had clients tell us this information, it means they only fix the easy stuff). Think of buying service online as a downpayment, you checkout and now have an electrician scheduled (For same-day and emergency service, please call the office). If the issue is resolved within our standard repair time, you’re done! If the issue is not resolved within our standard repair time, our electricians will give you an idea of what that repair will cost and the remaining balance will be billed upon completion.

Benefits to you:

Sparky’s Shop Online – Service Purchase – $115.00 for standard repairs.

Competitor’s Up-Front Price Table – $275.00 for standard repairs.

So lets say the repair is straightforward, you just saved $160.00 on your repair! Let’s say the repair is a bit complicated and takes an few extra hours, you could save anywhere from $50.00 to $400.00 based on our price structure vs our competitors.

Q :: How do you handle payments and billing when service is not purchased online?

Standard service is handled with payment C.O.D. Large projects will often break into multiple payments. We do bill commercial clients based on upfront agreements.

Q :: How does Sparky’s create their pricing structure?

We have years of experience in repairs and installation, our pricing is based on a standard electrical pricing system and our own personal experiences of countless repairs and installations. We offer a wide variety of options to help bring the price to an accurate reflection of your particular installation (such as ceiling height, age of building).

Q :: Some claim they will beat a written quote, does the service shop count as a quote?

Sparky’s stands by our pricing however, we do not provide written quotes for our online prices. In upholding our own values, integrity and respect for our industry, Sparky’s will never promote beating another written quote.

Q :: How do I know I am getting the best deal? How do I compare prices?

Sparky’s prices are set by a national standard of pricing of licensed electrical contractors (pros). While you may find lower prices, those prices are often not from licensed and insured electrical contractors. Rest assured all of our work is completed by a licensed and insured electrician. We stand behind our work, we have been in business since 1996 and we will be here the next time you need an electrician.

Q :: I bought service online but now I have more work I need completed. What should I do?

Feel free to call anytime to add work before your scheduled appointment so we may add time as needed to complete your installation. If you can not call before your scheduled appointment, don’t worry, our electricians are always happy to complete your additional requests during your appointment and adjust as needed.

Q :: I don’t know how high my ceilings are, how can I tell?

If you have a tape measure, you can always measure. Also, you can compare the total ceiling height to an object such as a door opening. Example – Door height is 7′, ceiling is about 3 doors high, 21′ ceiling. We give a range of ceiling heights as options, if you aren’t sure, give it your best guess and we will adjust as needed.

Q :: How do I know if I can have a ceiling fan where a light fixture is existing?

There is never really a 100% way to know until we take the fixture down. If the box is not rated for fan support, an electrician will notify you immediately before proceeding.

Q :: Does Sparky’s warranty/guarantee all work completed?

100% of the time. All work comes with a standard One Year Power Warranty. Sparky’s also offers additional Two Year and Five Year Power Warranties as an optional purchase which we always recommend on larger installations, such as hot tub circuits and service upgrades.

I have more I will be adding soon (I promise) but as you see, I still have much work to do!
